Nordic Symbols

I am finally doing another blog post on symbols. Yes I know you guys and girls have been waiting for this for a while now. I am glad you have been so eager to read more on symbols. Nordic Mythology I am pretty familiar with such as Odin, Thor (of course everybody knows him), and Jormangandr or better known as The Midgard Serpent, also Loki a shadow being. Enough of the people of this mythology let us focus on the symbols since we are pretty much discussing that here in this blog post. I am pretty familiar with Norse mythology but not an expert.

Hrunger's Heart this symbol was found on old stone carvings called The Valknut or the hrunger's heart. This symbol has been seen on many funerary motifs and is considered a sign of the afterlife. The Valknut's intertwined shapes including the nine points are usually said to represent the rebirth, pregnancy, and cycles of reincarnation. All 9 points also are said to represent all 9 worlds that surround Yggdrasil or the World Tree.

Yggdrasil also known as the World Tree that is central within Norse Cosmology. The World Tree also had 9 worlds that thrived strongly. Yggdrasil is said to mean Ygg or "Odin's" horse. Yggdrasil is to be a very holy tree. We all know where there is good evil is not far behind trying to throw the world into chaos. A few of the worlds in Yggdrasil include Helheim, Niflheim etc.

Odin's Horn is a symbol that consists of three drinking horns. It also represents Odin who is the father of all Norse gods. Within the Norse eddas this symbol is well known throughout toasting rituals. In most stories the three horns represent the three draughts of the Odhroerir which was a magical mead. This symbol including many other Nordic symbols are used as tattoos to keep these symbols alive and well known throughout the world.

Thor's Hammer 'Mjolnir' which is used in Pagan traditions with Norse backgrounds particularly Asatru. The symbol matches with Thor's power over thunder and lightning. His hammer held the powers of both with each swing of Mjolnir lightning would spew out and burn his enemies to a crisp. Early Pagan Norsemen wore this amulet for protection even after Christianity moved into the region. This symbol is still worn today by many people as a necklace or by other forms of regalia.

Jormungandr also known as the Midgard Serpent "World Serpent". He is a sea serpent and the middle child of the giantess AngrboĆ°a and the god Loki. As it is told in the Prose Edda Odin took Loki's three children Fenrisulfr, Hel, and Jormungandr. Odin tossed Jormungandr into the ocean that circles Midgard. The serpent had grown so large that he placed his own tail within his mouth. If Jormungandr was to ever let go of the tip of his tail the entire world of Yggdrasil would fall. Thor is the opponent of the Midgard Serpent. The Ouroborus symbol is a good representation of the Midgard Serpent being used.

I am glad to finally get this blog post done. I will see what else I could look up and talk about. I may even talk about channeling into the higher realms. If there are any other symbols you would like to see me research into and discuss please feel free to tell me so. I am always open to new topics to explore. I hope you all have a wonderful day. :)

Struggling With My Spiritual Side.

It is so hard to try and grow more spiritually and to get more in depth with my spiritual journey. If I had a mentor of some kind that aided people with their spiritual journey's I myself would not have so many issues with mine right now. There are quite a few individuals that explain how simple it is. When really it is just ever so complex. I need to stop thinking and just do what I need to do, but for me it isn't as simple as I think. Maybe it is time to put up my Horus herbal amulet and pull out my Lemuria herbal amulet. The Lemuria herbal amulet helps in bridging the conscious and subconscious together. My mind has quite a bit of information stored but there is dozens upon dozens of other knowledge I can help with increasing my awareness physically as well as spiritually.

Meditation could help and charge the stone inside of my Lemuria amulet to help charge my amulet. I have tried to meditate as much as I could. The problem with that is I can never do it without something or someone making a loud ruckus that causes me to loose focus. Trying to block out the noise is only possible with binaural beats. It could be the ear phones I have it can make outside noise much louder, even though the ear phones are supposed to cancel a majority of noise. Skull Candy ear phones may be on the to do list next. When meditating I want to feel the music feel up my ears and move throughout my brain. Not listen to music, hear the dog barking, a lawn mower turning on, or any other outside disturbances. I am sure a lot of you understand how that goes.

Growing spiritually I believe to be the most vital part in every person's life. We all need to learn more about ourselves. Unlocking our psyche to be able to heal others including our selves. Modern medicine cannot achieve of spiritual awakenings can for every human being. Every deity throughout every belief/practice has been able to heal others, break bread with sinful people, cure people of diseases nobody else could (including doctors).

I would like to open myself even more spiritually to achieve feats I never thought possible just being my ordinary self.
